Job Summary

AvaMed Workforce is currently seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for an opportunity at a healthcare facility in Fresno, California.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This position requires a dedicated healthcare professional who is committed to delivering quality patient care, supporting rehabilitation goals, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

We offer a competitive pay rate of $50.00 per hour with weekly pay.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Implement established treatment plans to improve patient mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.

  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and mobility activities.

  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient treatment documentation.

  • Educate patients on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and safety precautions.

  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.

  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Perform other duties within the scope of practice of a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required.

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to follow established treatment plans and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Ability to meet facility credentialing, background screening, and onboarding requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or similar clinical setting.

  • Experience working with patients requiring restorative and rehabilitative services.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $50.00 per hour

Pay Frequency: Weekly
