AvaMed Inc is currently seeking a licensed Recreational Therapist (CTRS) for a traveler assignment at a state correctional facility in Lancaster, California. This role provides therapeutic recreation services in a structured, secure healthcare environment.

 

Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday 7:00am - 5:00pm l 4/10's schedule | Day Shift | 40 hrs/week
  • Orientation: Mandatory 2 weeks of orientation Monday-Friday


Benefits:

  • $60/hr traveler pay

  • Weekly pay

  • 6 month assignment with contract extension opportunities

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and facilitating therapeutic recreation programs

  • Documenting assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes

  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare and custody teams

  • Maintaining safety, security, and compliance with facility policies


Requirements:

  • Current CTRS certification

  • Minimum 1 year of Recreational Therapy experience

  • Ability to pass background check and health clearance
