AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for a day-shift contract at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, CA (Medical, 8-hour shifts).

Assignment details

  • Location: Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD), San Diego, CA
  • Dates: 11/30/2026 - 03/28/2027 (4 months)
  • Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (8-hour shifts, 30-min meal)
  • Orientation: 2 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing and psychiatric care to incarcerated patients
  • Give medications and treatments and document care accurately
  • Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

  • Active California LPT license (BVNPT)
  • Current BLS (AHA)
  • Correctional or behavioral health experience preferred
  • Background check and facility security clearance
  • TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
